Healing through animals, gardens, and community

Since 1992, Forget Me Not Farm Children’s Services has helped at-risk children and youth build trust, find calm, and grow resilience through animal-assisted and horticultural activities.

Mission

Where safety and trust take root

The Farm provides a safe place for children to experience care, predictability, and connection. With trained staff, gentle animals, and garden spaces, kids practice empathy, self-regulation, and teamwork in a setting that feels welcoming and calm.

“I learned that I can be gentle and strong at the same time. The animals helped me feel safe.”

How we create change

Therapeutic Farm

Structured activities with animals and gardens that teach care, boundaries, and trust. Children build confidence as they feed, groom, plant, and harvest alongside trained mentors.

  • Animal-assisted activities with consistent routines
  • Garden-based learning and nature connection
  • Trauma-informed, strengths-focused approach

Youth Mentoring and Vocational Training

Older youth gain job skills and leadership experience at the Farm. Many first arrive as participants, then return as mentors who model empathy and responsibility.

  • Work readiness and life skills
  • Mentorship and peer leadership
  • Pathways for continued growth
